Advertising Opportunities
July, 2008
Overview
Launched in January 2007, The Daily Galaxy – News from Planet Earth & Beyond – is an eclectic text and video presentation of news and original insights on science, space exploration, climate change, and technology and their reflections in popular culture. It is created and produced by Galaxy Media, LLC – a talented and experienced team of writers, designers, and website architects.
The initial success of The Daily Galaxy, positioned as ‘the Web’s alternative to the Discovery Channel,’ is built on the fundamental insight that science and space exploration and its expression in film, video, news and events will dominate popular culture in the 21st century - as the Internet has during the past decade.
Since its launch, The Galaxy’s growth has been driven by minimal advertising, Web-based word of mouth, and adoption by users of emerging global standards in “people-powered” social communications networks and search services such as Google, Facebook, StumbleUpon (eBay), and Yahoo.
The Galaxy is globally syndicated by Reuters News. Additionally, content and headlines for The Daily Galaxy are integrated via open-source software on iGoogle and Facebook and featured in their respective applications and “gadget” directories. For the past 90-days, the Galaxy has ranked among the world’s top 50 most popular sources of science and technology news on Digg –the Internet’s largest news aggregation site..
Both Scientific American –the world’s leading popular science and technology publication- and International Data Group (IDG Tech Network) have chosen The Daily Galaxy to be a founding member of their new content and sales networks. Our traffic is measured and ranked by ComScore, Nielsen NetRatings, and Google Analytics.
