Carry the Zero Built To Spill
Elton John nailed it when he asked 'Why do the sad songs say so much?' Joking aside, the sad songs just hit deeper in the chest, they strike a chord in our broken and bruised hearts, and that makes them much more interesting than sunshine. Masters of melancholy Built to Spill use their expertise in misery to craft this wonderfully reflective and vindictive ode to a passing relationship. Doug Martsch’s writing is just excellent, “You’ve become what you thought was dumb”, simply fantastic. Fans of Teenage Fanclub and the Doves will certainly want to check out Built To Spill.
