Alastair Reynolds & the Search for Intelligent Life

Cosmic_dna_2Author Alastair Reynolds, a young, recently retired scientist with the European Space Agency, is a new Daily Galaxy staff discovery. We think he's on track to be the next Arthur C. Clarke (2001 -A Space Odessey). His trilogy, which is as much literature as science fiction, asks the great question: if there is intelligent life out there, how come we never encountered it?
