hello. amazing slide show. the impact holes are all going perpendicular to the center of the moon.

Only a very glancing blow will cause a non-circular crater. The rest all look as if they have been caused by vertical strikes. This is because a crater isn't actually formed directly by the impact of a meteor; rather it's caused by the explosion resulting from the strike, an explosion that is the result of the super-compression and vaporisation of rock at the point of impact. This leaves a circular crater actually much larger than the meteor(ite) itself.
