Friday's 'Comment of the Day' --Emergence of the Human 'SuperBrain' 75,000 Years Ago --"AI Could Blur Differences between Humans and Computers in Coming Centuries"

"Far from simply blurring the difference between humanity and artificial intelligence. I think self replicating Ai would in fact surpass our human collective intelligence within a very short time of being developed. If they were allowed to advance and develop unchecked there is no limit to how much knowledge they could acquire. When you consider that they will most likely be some form of quantum computer intelligence. That prospect alone truly is staggering in terms of how advanced they could become over time. They would have all of our advantages when it comes to information gathering and none of our weaknesses."

staggering and a bit worrying. We've all seen the Terminator!!

It is absolutely impossible to duplicate the human brain; Not for a very long time, at least, considering its quantic and energy generating capabilities. The scientific community has
not been capable of explaining the type of ultra efficient energy used by the brain, when trying to copy very small parts of same. Also, what nonsense is this continuous mention of "intelligence" and AI´s becoming N times more intelligent? Human intelligence/knowlege/information managbement, is developed in accordance with the solutions required in different areas of the human environments; so it is defined by the solution capabilities involved. Period. The AI´s will be programmed for certain researches and tasks required for human use; and/or eventually to be combined with humans, when a digitalized copy (or other technique) of a human ID should be possible to download into a desired type of AI, or energy field.

I dont think that something "programmed" to complete certain tasks would be classified as AI. An AI would have its own free-will capable of making all of its own decisions... including wether or not it wants to complete tasks for human use.
