Global Warming Clock Unveiled in NYC: CO2 Highest in 800,000 Years
Deutsche Bank has erected a seven-story sign in the heart of New York City outside Madison Square Garden that displays the tons of carbon dioxide being emitted into the atmosphere. Designed by scientists at MIT hanging outside Madison Square Garden, the giant counter shows that the amount of carbon dioxide in earth’s atmosphere is at 3.64 trillion metric tons, the highest level in 800,000 years.
Numbers ticking on the counter show that CO2 is being added to the atmosphere at the rate of 800 tons per second.

Oh, geez...... Global warming is an invention by a bunch of Liberal fear - mongers who want to dump on Big Industry.
Of course I'm being sarcastic. The Bush Administration & their flunkies & flunkettes were not very big on environmentalism.
BUT - SERIOUSLY - Global warming is a natural process, even though the overuse of inefficient fossil fuels, deforestation & introduction of new chemical compounds into the environment has thrown it out of kilter.

Great idea to get people more aware! Hope it works.

CO2 is not inherently bad, but too much CO2 kills. The truth is we need balance, too little and we cant survive, too much and we cant survive either. Sustainable Energy is smart!

The problem is that its rate of increase is rising,
its only getting more.

last time I looked at 'earth's atmosphere' on Google, CO2 was 383 parts per Million, thats less than %1.00 so why all the fuss about CO2? Methane holds 20 times more heat than CO2, at least with more CO2 we will get better crop yields.
