Icelanders & Scandinavians Europe's Top Internet Users
It must be those long, dark winters! An estimated 88 % of the population of Iceland aged 14 and above use the internet regularly, followed by 81%in Finland, 76% in Norway, 76% in Denmark and 73% in Sweden, the survey showed.
In western Europe, Malta ranks lowest in terms of internet usage, with only 25 % of the population regularly going online, followed by Spain with 35 %, Portugal with 43 % and Ireland with 45 %.
Albania ranks the lowest in all of Europe, with only one per cent of Albanians regularly surfing the web.
In Austria, 67 % of the population are regular internet users, compared with 63 % in Britain, 61% in Germany, 56 % in France and 53 %in Italy.

Interesting statistics. I suppose there's not a lot else to do during those long, dark winters. Certainly not fit for outdoor activities.
