The SIZE of each country on this map reflects the relative size of its OIL RESERVES.

The COLORS reflect different levels of OIL CONSUMPTION (per country, not per capita -the key is on the left).

The map's sources are the BP Statistical Review Year-End 2004 and the Energy Information Administration.

Your map needs recalculation: if you include the Alberta oil sands Canada would be as large or larger than Saudi Arabia!
