Pangea Ultima: Will This be the Earth in 250 Million Years?

Pangeaultima_scotese_2_4

About 250 million years ago, the plates on which the present-day continents rest were positioned quite differently, so that all the landmasses were clustered together in one supercontinent called Pangea. About 250 million years from now, the plates are again projected to reposition themselves so that a single landmass, called Pangea Ultima, dominates. At that time, the Atlantic Ocean will be just a distant memory, and whatever beings inhabit Earth will be able to trek, fly, drive, or beam up from North America to Africa.

Adam

I thought the rift in the Atlantic Ocean was pushing the America's AWAY from Europe and Aftrica, not towards it.

Zack

Erm... In 250 Million years I don't think theres going to be this much left of the earth the way we are using it now.

Humanity is probably going to evacuate or die out in the next 2000 yrs.

seth

yeah zack youre effing retarded. just cuz humanity isnt around doesnt mean there isnt going to be some other form of life, cuz there will be.
