Hans Moravec on the Evolution of Machines -A Galaxy Insight
"Biological species almost never survive encounters with superior competitors."
Hans Moravec -One of the world's leading authorities on machine intelligence and author of "Robot: Mere Machine to Transcendent Mind."
As one recent reviewer wrote "if anything the Moravec vision resembles a film not yet made, namely Greg Bear’s Blood Music. If you haven’t read the book, then let me explain: Cells that think like computers take over the Earth. It really isn’t much of a fight. They sort of take over everything and remake the Earth, and later on it’s hinted, the Stars, into a different kind of intelligence."

The notion that a machine can become a transcendent mind is complete nonsense. This idea is the result of too much linear thinking, something at which scientists excel. It is also the product of a scientist wanting to show everyone how clever he is. Superior my butt.
A machine is a tool. That's all it is. And being
a "tool maker" is only one aspect of a human. Human Beings are Lovers, artists, dancers,
among a myriad of other things.
The Human body, human emotions, human sexuality are what connects us (Humans) to the Divine.
All a machine can do better than a human is compute, whatever needs to be computed, faster. So what. They can't have an orgasm. Top that!
