What in the world happened to this man? Haliburton? Oil? The need for a permanent base in Middle East base post 9/11? A couple of aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf would have been far more effective. Our thinking: it was Rove and Cheney morphing a used-car salesman into a wartime commander in chief and fighting a perpetual Republican-led "war on terror" to manipulate the voting populace. American lives be damned.
