Ok its not stupid you just dont know what it means. he's saying that sometimes people pretend to be things that are bad and then cause evil. its a simple message saying we shouldn't hurt others.

I think what he is actually saying is that it's easy to loose yourself in an invented reality. But you know, go ahead and lash out at others because they don't agree with you, it's not ironic at all.
