The Sphinx at the Top of the Alps -World's Highest Space Observatory

The_sphinx_observatory_2 Perched at 3,571 meters, the Sphinx observatory Perched at 3,571 meters in the Swiss Alps is the highest-altitude construction in Europe, and the highest space-observatory in the world, standing 117 meters above the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe .

In 2001 UNESCO declared the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn area the first World Heritage site in the Alpine region. The Sphinx Observatory is located on top of a small, separate mountain on Jungfraujoch.
