Apple's Massive Glass-Cube iStore -A New World Architecture & Technology Icon
Rising above the former General Motors Plaza on Fifth Avenue across from NYC's Plaza Hotel is a new world architectural landmark as striking as the once-controversial I.M. Pei Pyramid at the Louvre in Paris.
The Apple glass cube crowns an underground store at the hub of what is arguably the world's richest mile of retail emporiums.
Having outgrown it's immensely successful SOHO store, Apple's new Fifth Avenue store will introduce a 24/7/365 always open service concept in one of the world's defining lifestyle centers.
Similar to Starbuck's coffee bar concept that has swept the world, Apple has it's Genius Bar, again a 24/7 service concept deigned to help with any customer questions or computer or ipod repair issues.
Apple has come a long way from it's Silicon Valley garage where Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak built the first Apple computer. The store is easily the most visual representation of Apple’s emergence as a technology-fashion leader with a modern, clean design experience.
