Apple’s iPhone: Trouble in iParadise
You would have to have been living underneath a rock not to have heard about Apple’s newest and greatest innovation, the iPhone, coming soon to an AT&T provider near you. The sleek touch screen phone with only one button has been the talk of the tech world for the past 12 months, and it was only announced this year.
But apparently not everything is well in Happy McApple land, according to a New York Times report about the building anxiety of Apple executives watching the hype that the iPhone is causing. From the article, “Some Apple executives worry privately that expectations for the one-button phones may be too high and that first-generation buyers will end up disappointed.”
This comes just as AT&T are advertising through a new stream of television ads, that the iPhone will reach stores for purchase on June the 29th. Continued information filters out, and thanks to the website “9to5Mac” some of those details are;
- No SIM card
- No battery swapping
- Interactivity through iTunes and iPhoto (on the OSX)
- No iChat
While these are minor issues in the scheme of things (unless you’re like me and do not like being chained to a particular mobile company), the reviews of the newest ‘popular kid’ are all describing the iPhone as great.
Looks like Steve Jobs has outdone himself this time. For my part though, just take away the phone functionality and give me the iPod version of this (iPod with touch screen and widescreen).
