As the video-sharing phenomenon spreads worldwide, the French venture DailyMotion has emerged in the heart of Old Europe to challenge YouTube. With 9,000 new videos pouring in each day and daily page views surpassing the 16 million mark, Paris-based site looks poised to grab a piece of Europe's fastest-growing online audience.
I highly recommend the site as an alternative to the mainstream American media for a more Europe-centric point of view on news, science and technology, arts, politics, extreme sports, gaming, comedy, film and TV, music (and a hot Sexy Channel to boot), and travel. The music is especially cool -a place to discover new artists and music videos.
My sense is that DailyMotion will give YouTube a run for its money in the 500 million plus broadband-centric European Union market. Posted by Casey Kazan.
